The Season of Easter

In our modern world, Easter is here one day and gone the next, but in the ancient world, Easter lasted seven Sundays, ending with Pentecost Sunday, the day of the coming of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, over the coming Sundays the preaching will be based upon the book of Acts which presents us of stories of post-resurrection life among the followers of Jesus.

A Church Core Value:

"Full devotion to Jesus Christ in all areas of life is the calling of every believer." [Ephesians 4:25-26,32; Hebrews 12:4; Philippians 1:6]

PRAYER UPDATES FROM BANGKOK

Happy Resurrection Day and Passover! One of our newest employees accepted Christ after church. What a wonderful way to close one season and crossover into the new! April is also the monthThais celebrate Songkran, the Thai new year. Following New Year's Day and Chinese New Year, this is the third "new year" celebrated in Thailand. This year it especially feels like we could use the extra opportunities for new beginnings. During the Thai new year, people travel home to bless their parents and elders by pouring water over their hands and speaking a blessing over them. It's a beautiful celebration, and we joyfully celebrate the new life that comes with this new season.

Praises:

  • The building renovations are coming along quickly. We are grateful for the great response so far to the matching campaign, making it possible to do all that we need to do.
  • Two Thai women have asked for jobs. When we move back into the renovated space, we will be able to hire them.
  • Gomer-Sozo has been doing fairly well and coming to work regularly.
  • Two African women who were trafficked to India contacted us for help, and we thank God for the organization that will now assist them until they can be repatriated.
  • Our Good Friday service was full with NightLight's employees and staff. We are thankful for the sacrifice of Jesus that gives us new life and good news to share.
  • One of the newer Thai employees accepted Jesus on Easter Sunday!
