Lenten Prayer of Confession [5th week of Lent]

Lent is a time of humble recognition that we have strayed from God in our hearts and that we need to return to the one who

loves us beyond measure. Each week throughout Lent I will print a prayer of confession to help us on our journey with God.

Holy God,

you promise us a life full of blessing,

but we do not always believe.

You incite us to hope,

but we fall back into fear.

You urge us to give freely, but we calling to what we have.

You call us to watch at all times for you,

but we grow lazy and self-absorbed.

Forgive us.

Increase our hope, enlarge our hearts,

and keep us alert to the wonders you work

in the world every day.

For the sake of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Children’s Easter Activity

Join us on Saturday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the FBC Fellowship Hall. We will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt, a light lunch, and decorating Easter cookies with Claudette. Please RSVP to Christine Quintana at 583-4623 or

Godly Play

The Godly Play Group will be meeting at FBC on April 26th, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Please note that this is the fourth Friday rather than the third Friday as we will be celebrating Good Friday that evening. This month’s focus will be on The Mystery of Easter. As this is presented as a liturgical action story, there is no specific scripture reference provided for the presentation. The story explores the tradition of Lent in the Church. To join the circle, children must be 5 to 12 years old and registered using the FBC enrollment form. The Godly Play approach helps children to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and enhance their spiritual experience through the wonder of play. Godly Play is based on Montessori principles and was developed using a spiral curriculum. Contact Christine Quintana at 563-583-4623 for more information.

Psalm 118:19-29
