Mission Outreach [8.24.19]

We have an opportunity to serve God through helping Westminster Presbyterian Church in their Hunger Outreach. This event is scheduled for Saturday, August 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. They will need some 40-50 volunteers to carry out this project. This is a first for them and a first for us. This outreach serves a growing need within the community. At this point they are asking us to show up and fit in where we can. The possible duties consist of: hospitality crew, registration crew, wagoneer crew, food distribution crew, clean up crew, and standby crew. Their next distribution will be in February.

DiscipleshipU [9.8.19]

Christian education is returning soon. Our first classes will begin on Sunday, September 8. Classes will be held on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Why not make a commitment to going deeper in your walk with Jesus by attending this year?

September Movie [9.13.19]

The Waterfront Crime Commission is about to hold public hearings on union crime and underworld infiltration. As workers are turned against each other, Terry Malloy inadvertently participates in the murder of fellow longshoreman Joey Doyle. Union boss Johnny Friendly orchestrates the murder along with other illegal dockside activities, aided by Terry's brother Charley. Terry begins to feel pangs of conscience. When Joey's sister Edie sees more in Terry than he sees in himself and Father Barry urges him on, Terry reassesses his past and begins to regain responsibility for his actions.

Join us on Friday night, September 13 at 6:30 p.m. for this much celebrated movie starring Marlon Brando and introducing Eva Marie Saint. Written and directed by Elia Kazan. Water and popcorn are always free.
