Improvements/Repairs

Do you have suggestions for improvements for the church and/or other chores/ things that need attention? Please bring them to either LA Jennings or Pastor Tim.

Weekly Scripture Meditation:

We are inviting the Church as a whole to participate in reading and meditating on the lectionary texts for the upcoming Sunday. The texts for Sunday, July 7 are as follows:

Luke 10:1-11, 16-20; Psalm 66:1-9; Isaiah 66:10-14; Galatians 6:1-16

Greeters Needed!

The ministry of greeting is huge. Welcoming regular members and friends as well as first-time guests is a huge responsibility. As a greeter you can set the tone for the rest of the morning. You will need to give people a welcoming hello, hand out a bulletin and assist in the collecting of the offering. Please see the sign-up list on the board in the foyer.

Operation Christmas Child

July will mark the kick-off for this year’s Operation Christmas Child effort. We will reveal goals and explain strategy and detail what we have in inventory to be more strategic in our shopping. Each Sunday in July will reveal one more thing about our plans for this year. The reveal is coming soon!

July Movie

In a tradition that Dawn Burch started, we will be showing a children’s movie in July. On the 12th at 6:00 p.m. the movie for the evening will be “The Lorax.”

“A 12-year-old boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.”

Global Leadership Summit [August 8-9]

This year’s faculty includes: Craig Groeschel, Bozoma Saint John, Bear Grylls, Jo Saxton, Jason Dorsey, Danielle Strickland, Patrick Lencioni, Aja Brown, Liz Bohanon, Dr. Krish Kandiah, Todd Henry, Jia Jiang, Chris Voss, and DeVon Franklin. Register at GlobalLeadership.org/summit. The University of Dubuque will again be hosting this live feed event.

Vacation Bible School

Save the date! This year we will be holding a Vacation Bible School for children ages 4 to 12. [Younger children may attend with a parent or adult guardian present]. The dates will be Monday to Thursday, July 22 to July 25, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Christine Quintana at 583-4623.

Summer Prayer Events

This Summer we will hold three prayer events. We just had our first one last Wednesday, here are the following fourth Wednesday dates [July 24, August 28]. We will meet at 7:00 p.m. each evening and have times of singing, guided prayer, congregational reading and response and prayers of the people. The format will remain the same each session. Please mark your calendar or electronic device. We’ll see you in June

Mission Outreach [8.24.19]

We have an opportunity to serve God through helping Westminster Presbyterian Church in their Hunger Outreach. This event is scheduled for Saturday, August 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. They will need some 40-50 volunteers to carry out this project. This is a first for them and a first for us. This outreach serves a growing need within the community. More information to follow.
