One Great Hour of Sharing

May brings us the OGHS offering from our denomination. Its purpose is to aide people all over the world in the midst of some emergency situation like earthquakes, hurricanes, pandemics, forest fires, and such. A letter has been sent out to all friends and members of FBC to explain it in more detail. Please pray about how you might be a part of 2021’s OGHS.

Pastoral Search Committee Update

We are entering a new chapter in the history of our church. After 21-years of ministry, pastor Tim and his wife Claudette are stepping down. The Pastoral Search Committee has been formed and begun meetings. Right now, the committee is dealing with a number of important preliminary discussions. Here are the topics to be explored:

  • What does First Baptist stand for?
  • What are our core values?
  • What are we looking for in a pastor?
  • They are developing survey tools for the congregation
  • Developing a church profile.
  • Developing a community profile.

Please keep this committee, as well as the church, in prayer as we experience this time of transition. The next meeting is on June 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Summer Worship in the Park

This summer we have planned two outdoor worship services. The proposed dates are: June 27, and July 25. The June service will be on our campus, and the July service will be on the Grace Point Campus. They will be in the evening from 7-8:30 p.m. They will utilize our own worship team as well as musicians from Grace Point Church. Mark your calendars, these should be fantastic opportunities.

Looking for Greeters

Over the last few weeks, we have had some guests on Sunday morning. We are seeking friendly people to serve as greeters to welcome guests and assist them in any way possible. Are you up to the task? Contact Linda Chapman.

Prayer Updates from NightLight

  • These are not easy times for any of us. There is so much to worry about, and it is easy to give in to fear when we only look with our natural eyes. However, we have Christ in us, the Hope of Glory! We eagerly wait for the outcome of what God is doing to bring transformation and revival. As we wait, we can celebrate and worship Him in the here and now. The new building feels like a signpost of new beginnings. We will soon leave behind the old season and enter the new.

Thank you for your faithful prayers! May God bless you and fill you to overflow with his perfect love that drives out all fear and makes all things new!
