Weekly Scripture Meditation: [11.8.2020]

The Church, as a whole, is invited to participate in reading and meditating on the lectionary texts for the upcoming Sunday. The texts for Sunday, November 8 are as follows:

Amos 5:18-24, Psalm 70, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Matthew 5:1-13

Sermon Series on the Psalms [10.18-11.15]

We are in a series of sermons based upon the Psalm choices in the Lectionary. We have been in the New Testament for some time now, so it should be refreshing to explore this wonderful segment of the Old Testament.

World Mission Offering – 31 Days of Prayer

26. Lord, how privileged we are to bear witness to your presence among us in the joyful twinkle of an eye and the hopeful dreams of a new generation.[Kit Ripley, Thailand]

27. Lord, please give us ears to hear and eyes to see you in the hungry, thirsty, naked, sick and imprisoned, and in the stranger. Give us grace to feel and share your love. [Larry Stanton, Hungary]

28. Holy Spirit, save me from my hair, make-up and popularity contests. Please help me love people like Jesus, remember what’s important and that God is in control [Rebecca Stanton, Hungary]

29. Lord Jesus in a world full of confusion, apathy, anger and violence, may we- your people, your body- be a healing presence spreading in every place the faith, hope and love that come from knowing you. [Denise & Juan Aragon, Mexico]

30. Lord, teach us to do justice, to love mercy, and, as we seek to walk humbly with you, lead us to walk with those who would otherwise walk alone. [Ray Schellinger, Global]

31. Lord we pray for Baptist churches in the Congo as they seek to reach the lost and disciple them. [Jill and Mike Lawery, Democratic Republic of the Congo]

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Exciting news!!!!

We now have 250 essential items to fill our FBC boxes (packing party information will be coming soon)! Thanks to our generous shoppers and a local dental office, we have 250 toothbrushes, bars of soap, washcloths and combs!

Still want to shop? You could purchase colored pencils, tools, or band aids/first aid kits.

Don't want to shop, but have time to help? Grab some boxes next time you're at church and put them together at home.

Thank you for all your help. -Kylie

Quarterly Church Summit [11.8.2020]

Our next quarterly church summit will be held after worship on Sunday, November 8. Please make plans to attend. For those of you who have health issues that would preclude your attendance, we are exploring the option of having you attend through Zoom meeting. We are looking in to how to do that for this application.
