Operation Christmas Child
This past Monday, November 23, closed out a busy collection week! I want to thank Kylie, Ty, Emmie, Hector Jesus, Bella, Christine, Candi, Mark, Matt, Olivia, Linda, Hank, Peggy for greeting people and collecting shoe boxes. This year was different with greeting people outside and taking down information and packing boxes. The payoff for all the effort was 1,342 boxes! 1,342 children will be reached with love, care and the gospel! They were taken to Waterloo where the region's count was over 13, 000! PTL!
Westminster Hunger Outreach
Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2155 University Ave at Loras Blvd. will be conducting a drive-thru food distribution on Saturday, December 19th in partnership with the St. Stephen's Branch of River Bend Food Bank. Volunteers are needed to: greet car occupants as they arrive and direct them to the proper areas [they do not get out of their cars] and/or carry food boxes that are already packed to the car trunks. Food boxes have been prepacked by St Stephens. If you would like to help with this food outreach activity or have any questions, please email Linda at lindalouise63@yahoo.com.
Retired Ministers & Missionaries Offering
During the month of December we will be collecting for our denomination's Retired Ministers and Missionaries. This offering assists retired missionaries and ministers. Many of these people need help and your gift can make a difference. Our goal for this year is $750.
New Daily Breads Available
The new daily breads are available in the foyer. If you are unable to pick one but would like one mailed to you, please let Linda know. lindalouise63@yahoo.com

Advent Study
Our virtual Advent study begins this Sunday with the readings. To have an optimal experience it is suggested that the readings be done on a daily basis with time given to think about what you read. It could help to jot down your thoughts, questions, insights in a journal. Our first meeting will be on Sunday evening, December 6th at 6:30 p.m. I will be sending out an invitation to join sometime next week.
Advent Preaching Series
Over the coming weeks the sermons will come from selected apostolic texts as printed in the lectionary and N.T. Wright's book: "Advent for Everyone: A Journey with the Apostles." The Sunday selections are as follows:

December 6 2 Peter 3:8-15
