PRAYER UPDATES FROM BANGKOK

Prayers:

One of our male foreign traffickers of an African victim we cared for and repatriated in 2019 is now a fugitive and seeking revenge for being charged with sex trafficking. He is targeting NightLight and staff by making allegations against us to reporters as well as making intimidating phone calls to various staff and family members. Please continue to pray this man is apprehended and the attempts to discredit NightLight and staff are stopped.

Please continue to pray for sales and financial provision to keep the women employed and increase to employ all those who apply to leave prostitution.

Philippians Sermon Series [10.4.20]

This is the last installment of a four-part series originating from Paul’s letter to the Philippians. This week Paul wraps up his thoughts with words of encouragement.

World Mission Offering – 31 Days of Prayer

  1. Lord, help us to see the world through your eyes, so that images will be true and clear and not fuzzy like in an incomplete reflection. While there is faith, hope, and love, help us to embody the fact that, in your mission, the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:12 [Rev. Sharon Koh, Executive Director/CEO]
  2. May Jesus illuminate the eyes of hardened hearts who cling on to worldly securities. May they see and experience how Jesus’ love sustains them in tough times. [Melanie Baggao, Lebannon]
  3. I pray for our leaders serving in countries in political turmoil, for our students in the Master of Theological Studies program, and for the capacity to see clearly to share the kingdom of God. [Mercy Gonzales-Barnes, Iberoamerica and the Caribbean]
  4. Thank you, God, for Spirit-empowered women leaders who faithfully serve and strengthen the body of Chrst in spite of limitations placed on them just because they are women. Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” [Ann & Bruce Borquist, Global]
  5. Lord, open the eyes and the hearts of the hill tribe people to see you and to accept your love. May they know you more intimately than ever before. [Psalm 139] [Alise & Mark Juanes, Thailand]
  6. Lord, please help all those receiving book knowledge through education also come to heart knowledge of and a dependance on you. [Ruth Fox, Global]

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

FBC Shoppers, here are the necessities we need to fill 250 shoeboxes – we filled more than 200 at last year’s packing party:

  • Bars of Soap
  • Combs or Brushes
  • Toothbrushes
  • First Aid Kits
  • Pencils and Sharpeners

We could still use other items, including tool kits for older boys, flip flops and water bottles for all ages, and crayons and other school supplies. Kylie Loeffelholz at 563-543-4073.
