Sermon Series on the Psalms [10.18-11.15]

This coming Sunday we will begin a series of messages based upon the Psalm choices in the Lectionary. We Have been in the New Testament for some time now, so it should be refreshing to explore this wonderful segment of the Old Testament.

World Mission Offering – 31 Days of Prayer

  1. Father, help us to see the needs [mental, physical, ans spiritual] of our missionary children, who go because their parents are called to global ministry. In Jesus’ name. [Faye Yarbrough]
  2. Father, thank you for the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus in Hungary. We ask that the door stays open and that all find living hope in Christ. [Amanda & John Good, Hungary]
  3. Father God, I come to you in the name of our most precious Lord Jesus Christ. Please bless all the Master in Theological Studies students as they go out into their communities to share the gospel and the love of Christ with those who are lost in the darkness of this world. May you be glorified. Amen. [Jae Stockton, Mexico]
  4. Gracious father, teach us to see your image in those who suffer, so that we might be agents of peace and transformation in our broken world. [Eliberto & Molly Juarez, El Salvador]
  5. Heavenly Father, thanks to Jesus who bore our shame on the cross and restores our honor. May we give our allegiance to you alone as we teach your people. [Gordon Hwang, Japan]
  6. God of love and God of grace, we praise you because your ways are righteous, and your path is peaceful. You have the power to bring to pass that which seems impossible for us. In the Middle east we are hemmed in from all sides. But thank you, gracious Father, you can do all things. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen! [Dan & Sarah Chetti, Middle East]

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

FBC Shoppers, here are the necessities we need to fill 250 shoeboxes – we filled more than 200 at last year’s packing party:

  • Bars of Soap
  • Combs or Brushes
  • Toothbrushes
  • First Aid Kits
  • Pencils and Sharpeners

We could still use other items, including tool kits for older boys, flip flops and water bottles for all ages, and crayons and other school supplies. Kylie Loeffelholz at 563-543-4073.

Quarterly Church Summit [11.8.2020]

Our next quarterly church summit will be held after worship on Sunday, November 8. Please make plans to attend. For those of you who have health issues that would preclude your attendance, we are exploring the option of having you attend through Zoom meeting. We are looking in to how to do that for this application.
