DUBUQUE'S NATHANIEL MORGAN, Lynching and Its Legacy: Memorial Service

The Nathaniel Morgan Memorial Committee invites everyone to join a memorial service for Dubuque’s Nathaniel Morgan on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Washington Park, 700 Locust Street, Dubuque, IA. This somber event for sober reflection will include a historical recounting of racial violence in 19th-century Iowa and a dramatic reading.

Operation Christmas Child

FBC Shoppers, here are the necessities we need to fill 250 shoeboxes – we filled more than 200 at last year’s packing party:

  • Bars of Soap
  • Combs or Brushes
  • Toothbrushes
  • First Aid Kits
  • Pencils and Sharpeners

We could still use other items, including tool kits for older boys, flip flops and water bottles for all ages, and crayons and other school supplies. We have over 300 washcloths, 250 stuffed animals and tons of toys, so thank you again for your help! If you have any shopping or donation questions, please call Kylie Loeffelholz at 563-543-4073.

OUTDOOR WORSHIP BEGINS SEPTEMBER 6

Okay everybody. We are going to try it again. But the new wrinkle will be that we will meet outside. Beginning September 6, weather permitting, we will worship at 10 a.m. outside on our campus. Dress cool! Bring your lawn chairs. Bring something to cool you down. Bring an umbrella to keep the sun off. Think creatively. Social distancing should be easier. Masks are still recommended. If you want to use the parking lot, you will need to arrive before 10:00. After that, please park curbside. If it rains or looks like rain; we are not meeting. I’ll send a morning update via email.

Please be patient with us as we are figuring this out on the run. We believe it is important to get together on Sunday morning and we are doing what we can to make that happen. To God be the Glory!

New Members Announced!

Mark and Candi Kamm have been welcomed by the Board as new members of our church. It was wonderful to be able to sit down with this couple and hear their faith stories. We will give an official announcement at the September 6 worship service.
