PRAYER UPDATES FROM BANGKOK

Mother's Day Reflection
 August 2026

Thai Mother's Day was celebrated this past week. The Outreach Center organized a Mother’s Day activity where fourteen women attended. The atmosphere throughout the event was warm and welcoming. Participants had the opportunity to talk, share their feelings, and reflect on the meaning of “mother” from different perspectives.
As part of the activity, we asked a reflective question:

“Is there anything you would like to say to yourself—in your role as a daughter, as a mother, or simply as a woman?”

Many participants opened up and sincerely shared personal stories from their lives. One particularly moving story came from "N", who spoke tearfully about her mother, who has passed away. She shared that she wished her mother could have stayed with her longer and that she had had more opportunities to tell her mother she loved her. At the same time, in her own role as a mother, she expressed her desire to be a good mother to her own child.

Another touching story came from "T", who shared about a difficult period in her life surrounded by unhealthy environments, including involvement with drugs and alcohol, as well as conflict within her family. However, she came to realize that no matter how much she failed or how many mistakes she made, her parents continued to forgive her and welcome her home.

Afterwards, the team prayed for all mothers, asking that they would receive encouragement, healing, and love in every role they carry throughout their lives.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." Proverbs 31:25-26

  • Thank God for the meaningful Mother's Day Party in the outreach center.

  • Thank God for the visiting teams who came and led live worship music in the cafe.

  • Thank God for a new wholesale customer who visited us this past month and placed a sample custom design order.

  • Thank God for the new staff who joined our anti-trafficking team.

  • Thank God for the opportunity for our staff to attend multiple recent meetings and trainings focused on anti-trafficking work with our government and NGO partners.

  • Thank God that "E" is back to work and doing well and that she was able to find a new apartment.

  • We especially thank God for the opportunity to witness to our government partners and share about the power of prayer as part of a panel on witchcraft used by bosses to control victims.

  • Thank God "M" is out of the hospital and can be back to work and surrounded by a loving community.

  • Thank God for the continued orders and sales to keep women employed with dignity.

PRAYER REQUESTS
  • Pray for the survivor of forced criminality who entered our program in late May.  She was denied victim status and protection by the government. Now her path to return home involves going through the Immigration Detention Center. Pray for her as she is anxious and stressed about going into detention. Pray for an expedited deportation process and for God to comfort her while she is in detention.

  • Pray for the women who returned home this past month, that God would guide their paths as they start over.

  • Continue to pray for the government leaders to have a heart for victims of trafficking and exploitation. Pray they would have a true victim-centered approach and make assisting victims of adult trafficking and exploitation a priority.

  • Pray for NightLight’s alternative employment program. Pray for increased sales with existing retailers and wholesale partners, for expanded sales opportunities, for the new Storefront in Missouri, and for the provision to sustain the business.

  • Pray for a breakthrough to get Emergency Travel documents issued for Tanzanian women to return home. There has been a change that has resulted in Tanzanian women not receiving travel documents for more than 2 months now, and many are stuck in limbo with no timetable for when they will be able to return home.

  • Pray for “E,” that she would continue to overcome her addictions and past struggles and continue walking on the path to complete freedom.

  • Pray for "M," whose health is suffering. Pray that she would take her health seriously and listen to the doctor's advice. for God to restore her to full health.

  • Pray for the women we are reaching out to through outreach to have the courage to ask for help and be willing to walk the road to freedom and healing.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” Psalm 34:4-5
